The first was our annual family retreat! Once again we were at Hueston Woods. The kids had a blast--especially Samuel who got to stay in a room with three buddies and no parents. 😲 He did beautifully keeping his clothes organized, hanging up his wet swimsuit and respecting the curfew. Nonetheless, he was practically comatose by the end of the weekend from lack of sleep. Those boys could party!
The kids also enjoyed lots of games and art projects...
and some music and dancing.
Of course, bar/trivia night for the parents rounded out an awesome weekend for all of us.
I've tried a lot of new recipes lately! Like vegetable masala...
Slow-cooker teriyaki chicken!
Shrimp and rice noodle stir-fry!
And peanut pie!
What else have we been up to? Well, there was bowling one rainy weekend. The kids weren't competitive at all (enter sarcasm). Yikes, for when they're actually in serious sports!
And science experiments...
Burger night...
And Rockdale's Crystal Celebration!!
Some fun homework assignments (this is Brie's)...
And Sam's...
And Sebastian's!
And this one. (Like the 4-year-old sass??)
And sunny (but chilly!) outdoor playdates!!
Oh, we also had an ill-timed tornado siren. Homework in the basement bathroom replaced soccer practices that afternoon. It was a first for us!
And then we celebrated Purim!
Love those adorable pre-K kids!!
Finally, like in winter's past, we've been grateful for our gorgeous winter sunrises that pour into our kitchen each morning.
We're ready for you, Spring!
