Just numbers?

Lots to report today!  Saturday--May 19--was our 10th wedding anniversary!  It's really hard to believe that ten years have passed (quite quickly!), though we do have two graduate degrees, one year of overseas living, two children and a nearly completed postdoctoral fellowship to show for it.  Phew!  We're tired!
Another reason to celebrate? Yesterday was Tony's 34th birthday (yes, I am 13 days older)! I had some pretty cool gifts ready for him, including this funny t-shirt! Hehe.

It reads, "Ohio: Japanese for 'Good morning'." My kind of humor.

This weekend was also the 6th anniversary of me house hunting in Durham (while Tony interviewed at Duke) and discovering the wonderful home we've spent the last 5.5 years in! {Yes, that was a little pat on my own back since we actually bought our home without Tony ever seeing it.} It has been a PERFECT home for our family and we'll certainly miss it and our great neighbors!
So people often say, "Age is just a number," but I think our numbers are worth bragging about. Fewer and fewer folks make it to ten years of marriage, so it's an accomplishment definitely worthy of some celebrating. And maybe we'll move to Cincinnati, too!  (Oh, I guess we're going to do that anyway!)

Also, in honor of our tenth, we watched our wedding video on Saturday night for the first time in probably eight years. It was wonderful. It made us laugh A LOT and it made us cry A LOT. The ceremony was very special...and so was seeing our loved ones--many of whom are not with us any longer. What a trip down memory lane! And, you guessed it, we looked REALLY young!

P.S. Here's a little request for advice from our gentle readers: Ten years back, we received this unique wedding gift from good family friends and we've never known quite what to do with it or how to use it. It's a plaque/tombstone-looking thing. Should we hang it somewhere? Mount it on something? It's metallic, but would a fun coat of spray paint make it more fun? Should we let Sammy and Brie use it to do "crayon rubbings"??  We welcome your ideas and thoughts!
