The 40's Club

Tony also turned forty this month, so you know we had to celebrate together in a big way! We debated going to a Cincinnati brewery, seeing one of our favorite local cover bands, and even clearing out our basement and hiring a DJ (I did something similar when I turned 10)! But in the end, one of Brie's former teachers had the perfect suggestion: Tokyo Kitty! I was ecstatic to hear that Cincinnati recently became home to its very own Japanese-style karaoke bar and dance floor. The decision was easy to make!

We invited A LOT of our buddies...the first friends we made here, our awesome neighborhood crew and many of the wonderful friends we've made through our kids' schools and activities. About thirty people attended our celebration...lucky us!

We sang...
Danced...
Got delicious beverages from the robot bartender that came down through the ceiling (really!)...
Laughed at the decor...
And a few of the song choices!
Serenaded...
Not to mention belted...
Rapped...
Faced off...
Crooned...
Sang "Happy Birthday" and ate delicious cake...
And posed with our amazing neighbors!!
Then we moved to the main dance floor and embraced our inner American Idol!
Yuko and I sang some old-school J-pop for fun.
I think you could say that we were into it. ;-)
Just like our daughters?? Hehe.
Here we are rockin' out!
Peace!
Once the DJ started, we danced the night away. Check out the fun!
We did it! We turned 40! (And we were home by 2 a.m.!) What a wonderful night with our friends and what a perfect way to join the 40's club!
P.S. The cake was SO good!!
