This weekend felt like 72 hours of Mother's Day...it was great! I got quality time with each child, relaxation for myself, and several good meals. I wish every weekend were this good! I also had time to reflect on motherhood these days. Even though I do have moments during the day when I get a little quiet time and some much-needed perspective and reenergizing, in truth, I'm constantly girding myself for whatever's next. Motherhood is 24/7 and rarely offers unexpected rest or peace. I think that's why I'm feeling especially grateful today...the weekend offered both and the kids were (relatively) squabble-free, if you can believe it. Fabulous weather always helps, too, doesn't it? I feel blessed for my husband and kids...the reasons I'm a mom. With my recent birthday, I'm getting some extra spoiling this month. Here are some highlights from the weekend:
Sebastian's preschool breakfast and performance on Friday morning:
He kept looking for me and Tony in the crowd and flashing a big smile. What a ham!
It was a great show!
Sebastian with Ms. Katelyn and Ms. Amber!
On Saturday, Brie's team won their seventh soccer game in a row. They're undefeated with one game remaining!
Did I mention the goodies? The kids made me so many sweet gifts...works of art...
And sweet notes...
Brie even made me my own stationery!
I also enjoyed some Mother's Day Eve wine!
On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a delicious donut breakfast!
And then headed to the zoo with the rest of Ohio and Kentucky! It was a gorgeous day and all the animals were out and active. Everybody oohed and aahed over the mother animals and their babies. Our kids couldn't get enough of the wildlife...and Dippin' Dots (shocker!). ;-)
We capped off the weekend with more outdoor time, sushi and Star Wars. I really couldn't ask for more. Feeling so loved and lucky after this weekend!!
