The water felt great. Time for pie!
Then it was parade time!
Plus popsicles!
It was a steamy 4th, though not quite as hot as our first in Cincy!
Sam was very excited to see people carrying verses from the Declaration of Independence.
At the festival, we cooled off with snow cones and played some games!
We laid low that afternoon and then headed to Summit Park for the big kids' first concert...PAT BENATAR! You know we couldn't pass on Pat Benatar performing down the street from our house!
The temperature cooled down significantly and it was a beautiful evening. We danced...
And danced...
And rocked out to Pat's (still) amazing voice! Personally, I loved hearing "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" live since it's the first Pat Benatar song I remember hearing. I was at an L.A. Dodgers game in June 1989 and I thought to myself, "I love this song!" The rest is history!
Then it was fireworks time!
Not only was it the big kids' first concert...it was their first big fireworks show, too! They loved it.Brie looked like this for at least the first twenty minutes...
Finale!
Then on Friday, both Sam and Brie performed at camp. Here is Brie with the sign language club.
As you can see, they did an awesome job!
We also squeezed in a walk through Pioneer Park...
Outdoor yoga...AND a trip to Glenwood Gardens...it had been years!
After all that, we're beat!
Hope everyone else had a happy 4th, too!!
