The Storybook Book Club gathered earlier this week for an extra special meeting! Brie and her friends each brought a book with a "Snow" theme--Brie presented
The Snowman by Raymond Briggs...a big favorite in our house--and then children's book author and illustrator
Will Hillenbrand came to present his newest book
Snowman's Story!! Mr. Hillenbrand shared his passion for illustrating with everyone and explained all the steps that go into writing and publishing a book. He also read his new book and then gave each girl an autographed copy...how fantastic!
Mr. Hillenbrand's wife (on the left below) is a kindergarten teacher at our kids' elementary school...how lucky are we to have them both in our community!
Say, "Cheese!" (and "Thank you!") after an exciting and educational book club meeting! Did I mention there was snow out on the ground? I think the theme was right spot on!
