Special Visitors from Down Under

You know what Sammy, Brie and Sebastian are going to remember most about January 2016?? You're probably thinking, "The freezing cold temps and snow after a very mild December!" but that's not it! It's Uncle Marv and Aunt Barb coming to visit all the way from Melbourne, Australia!

I hadn't seen them in 3.5 years (you may recall that I was in their neck of the woods right before we moved to Cincinnati...for my cousin's wedding!) and, though Tony saw my Uncle Marvin five years ago, he had not seen both of them since 2004.  And...they had not met all three kids, so it was a very exciting visit!

Marv and Barb have five children (cousins about my age) and three grandchildren, so they settled right into playing, reading and enjoying quality time with Sammy, Brie and Sebastian.
Sebastian said, "You're new, but I know you're family!"
Isn't his face priceless in this picture?
"I LOVE when people read to me..."
Much to Marv and Barb's (and ours!) surprise, it was VERY cold and snowy while they were here. It never snows in Melbourne, so they got a big kick out of the beautiful, white stuff that blanketed Cincinnati! You know who else did?? Sebastian! He was positively gleeful to get all his snow gear on for the very first time. He loved stomping through the snow...
and exploring the backyard...
and sledding with Daddy!
He even cried when I took him in. Guess he's definitely our Ohio baby!

While Marv and Barb were here, we also took time to enjoy the little things...like homemade pecan pie (they don't make it quite the same Down Under)...
special gifts, like this adorable dress that Barb brought Brie...
delicious meals (here's us at Cinque in Downtown Montgomery)...
and LOTS of hugs and snuggles to make up for lost time. What a perfect visit it was for all of us. We truly loved catching up and reconnecting in person. Here's to the next visit...we can't wait!
P.S. After Cincinnati, Marv and Barb headed to Virginia Beach for fun with Mom, Dad and Beth!
And an early birthday celebration for Dad!
 All fun!!
