Halloween Week 2014 and THE costume

Sammy and Brie donned many costumes this week...from Optimus Prime and My Little Pony (talk about my own personal dream 80's Halloween, right?!) to Rapunzel and Iron Man.  Not sure why I only celebrated Halloween for one day growing up...Halloween Week is way better!!

This Halloween felt extra special since it was Sebastian's first...and he got to be a pumpkin just like his big brother and sister (and older cousins) were!

Our Halloween Week officially began last Saturday when the kids got dressed up and enjoyed the Halloween Walk in Blue Ash.  Sammy and Brie ran from station to station getting a little trick-or-treating practice under their belts...

And Sebastian dreamed of pumpkins... 

Speaking of pumpkins, Tony (with help from the big kids) worked his jack-o-lantern magic once again this year.

Our Halloween Week culminated tonight...a very chilly Halloween!  Sammy and Brie's buddies Eli and Brenna (and their parents) came over, and we enjoyed a yummy pizza dinner!

 

Afterwards, the kids put on their (long-johns and) costumes. Here are Brie the owl, Eli (a.k.a. Leonardo the Ninja Turtle), Sammy (a.k.a. Optimus Prime) and Queen Brenna!

...and Sebastian the pumpkin, of course!

Then we set out for trick-or-treating!  It didn't rain, but it was about 40 degrees...not ideal, but tons of fun, nonetheless.

 We were pretty chilly, but Sebastian stayed nice and toasty.  Who wouldn't be jealous??

I'd say Halloween 2014 was a big success...and the fifth pumpkin in the extended Krebs family agrees!!

P.S.  You may have spotted the milk jugs that I used as a "centerpiece" on our dining room table (above). We later moved them to our front porch where they became lanterns. This was a fun craft idea that I got from Tony's cousin Elissa. It was a piece of cake to save the milk jugs and the kids and I had fun coloring them with Sharpies. We used battery-powered votives inside, so there was no fire risk.  Very fun!
