Conversation Hearts

On a daily basis, Tony and I find ourselves laughing or smiling at something the kids have said, or a story they couldn't wait to tell us. Five and three are such sweet ages for exploring the art of conversation, and you better bet that we're writing most of them down, so we can remember them for years to come.

Since it's February now and, in the spirit of Valentine's Day, I thought I would share some of these sweet quotes and conversations:

Sammy: "I ate all of my broccoli and pears at school today, Mom!"
Me: "That's great, Sammy. That's very healthy."
Sammy: "Yup. And I drank all of my chocolate milk, too."
Me: ((sigh))
Brie: "Mom, can I wear your belt?"
Me: "Sure! But even on the smallest notch, it's going to be too big for you." (I proceeded to put in on the smallest notch.) "Here you go...you can wear it on one shoulder like a sash."
Brie: (After looking down at the animal-print belt...) "I love leopard!"
Sammy: (In effort to praise my patience, I assume...) "Bye, Mom, have a great day! Don't worry...the baby will come any minute!"
Brie: (To another mom and her child at Play Cafe) "What's his name?"
Other Mom: "It's Edward. What's your name?"
Brie: "I'm Gabriella." (Then looking my way...) "That's Steph."

So...as you can see...they make us laugh, they keep us on our toes, and they definitely leave us wondering what they will say next. What sweet little Valentines.
