Fun with Gammy & Granddaddy Rob!

So here are Sammy and Brie...looking a bit like Dick and Sally in "The Cat in the Hat"...waiting for something exciting to happen.
Just then...Gammy and Granddaddy Rob arrived and the fun began!

We had a (second) Easter Egg Hunt!

This plastic egg is yummy!

And we went swimming! Like Brie's new tankini??

We also went to Museum where we saw the dinosaurs!

And we rode the train, of course!

We made it just in time to watch the pigs get their lunch (lettuce and cherry tomatoes)!

Yum!!

"Hi, Lightning!" "Hi, Sammy!"

Make some noise!

On Saturday morning, we went to Northgate Park. It's beautiful and there are many places to explore!

It was our lucky day...a Durham County firetruck was part of Northgate Park's community day! Sammy was really excited to see one up close!

The firefighter gave a lesson on fire safety. Sammy is NOT shy, so he went right up to the front to learn fun facts like how firetrucks carry 500 gallons of water on board!

This weekend was especially sweet because Sammy mastered the word "Granddaddy." (Up until now he's been calling both grandfathers "Nonno.") He can't quite say "Rob" yet, so my dad is "Granddaddy Bob" for the time being...which is WONDERFUL since Granddaddy Bob was my grandfather (my dad's dad). Life is amazing like that sometimes.

Here are Sammy and Granddaddy Rob "wrestling." :-)

Brie didn't wrestle, but she was tired!!

Here's Sammy goofing off in Brie's car seat. Can't believe he used to fit in there!!

Here's a great photo of Brie and Granddaddy Rob outside by my (beautiful!) hydrangea.

And a fun photo of the grandparents and grandkids! What a wonderful weekend!

P.S. A few more highlights from the weekend included a trip to Blue Note Grill where we ate DELICIOUS ribs! There was a blue grass band playing inside (we ate outside) and Sammy couldn't resist...he had to go in and do a little dancing!

Miss Brie learned to clap! She was pretty impressed with her very own little milestone!

Sammy entertained us all with a comprehensive listing of "Who's who"...so cute!
