It's just another Virtual Monday...

Our weeks continue to fly by and most of our activities remain remote. It's a bit of a drag, but what can you do? Biden is now our president (woohoo!) and slowly, but surely the vaccine is being distributed (double woohoo!), so maybe just maybe this summer will look a bit different and a lot less virtual.

Every once in awhile, we have an occasion to be grateful for some of the better things born out of necessity during the pandemic. A recent Monday, for example, was full of them.

First, we streamed The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati's "Martin's Dream" on MLK Day and enjoyed some meaningful conversation with the kids afterward.

The production was interactive (with built-in trivia), which the kids really liked!

Then we had an especially fun video call with Nonno for his 80th birthday. It was a group effort, but we made a beautiful video for him full of messages and well wishes on his big day. Even though it was virtual, it was just as warm and wonderful as if we had been in person. 

And he got to "see" and "hear" from people far and wide, like his sister and brother-in-law in Rome!

And then I had a Zoom meeting while Samuel had a Zoom clarinet lesson. When it comes to virtual stuff, I think we've got this! We're just very ready for in-person stuff when the time comes!

Also remote these days? The Presidential Inauguration!

Watching Harris and Biden get sworn in was AMAZING!!

Amanda Gorman took our breath away. 💛

And who can forget where we were exactly twelve years earlier? Baby Sammy was exactly one month old and we watched former President Obama get sworn in together...on a gorgeous, snowy day in Durham!

I think it's our thing now! 

And...a virtual bourbon and chocolate tasting!

The chocolates were delicious and Old-Fashioneds are our new favorite drink!

Thanks to technology, Sebastian made fake snow with his classmates...

Bernie Sanders became a New Kid on the Block (just kidding!)...

We celebrated Cousin Adria's first birthday together last week...

and video-chatted with Granddaddy Rob for his 70th birthday yesterday! Zoom flute and piano lessons continue and Zoom Bar Mitzvah training will commence soon. I'm even part of the committee that's hiring our synagogue's new rabbi...entirely online. We can't wait to reunite with friends and family, but in the meanwhile, you know where to find us...and we might be a little manic (I couldn't resist)!
