Making History

Last week, the third grade had their annual Wax Museum. Remember Thomas Jefferson from last year?
Well, Brie prepared for weeks (after a little inspiration from a book club field trip) to portray Harriet Beecher Stowe. She nailed it!
Can you tell which one is the real HBS??
And here she was at the Wax Museum!
Brie was seated next to Kayden...I mean, Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.!
There was also Margaret E. Knight (Ellie) and Harry Houdini (Owen).
We also spotted the Wright Brothers (Mason and Parker)...
Amelia Earhart (Sydney)...
and Sacajawea (Brenna)!
J.K. Rowling (Nina) was another favorite. She even delivered a perfect British accent!
To our surprise, there were not only multiple Albert Einsteins, but also several Elvises (Elvi??). Blue Hawaiian Elvis, Vegas Elvis...
Brie loved this project and got such a big kick out of giving her speech. Here's a sample!
Also making history? Brie and Macy were the first two students at Maple Dale to perform a Japanese song two years in a row at Cultural Heritage Night! Actually, I don't know that this is true, but I have a hunch that it's a first...
Over twenty countries were represented!
Here's there performance that brought down the house. Again, I'm exaggerating. But everyone did love their song and effort!
Speaking of love, Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!!
