Spring Break really could not have come at a better time. We have had the strangest late-winter weather, of late. Hail... (This storm caused a lot of damage in our area!)
Snow...
(The kids even built a little snowman on this snowy morning...and then the snow melted and it was 60 degrees by lunchtime.)
Sunshine... (Sebastian celebrated with some new kicks!)
And then rain, lightning and thunderstorms. (Brie's first official soccer practice of the season had to be under cover!)
Let's just say that our trio has been more than ready for Spring Break!
To get into vacation mode, we kicked back and had some fun the week before break. Tony and I visited Sammy's class to talk all about Japanese culture. Here we are touting the merits of Japanese pizza toppings...shrimp, corn and mayo, anyone?? ;-D
The kids and I baked A LOT. Yay, for cookies!!
All three O'DeFalcos dressed in green for St. Patty's Day!
And Sebastian and I visited the big kids at school for a yummy lunch.
Fun fun! (The kids are in their jackets and turtlenecks because the cold, wet weather returned. Booo.)
Then Spring Break officially started with the arrival of Nonno and Nonna! We read books, played video games...
Built a beautiful fairy garden...
And took some long naps (it was rainy again)!
Sebastian also made "Button" at a Built-a-Bear birthday party for his buddy Avery!
I made a kimchi and veggie soup for my dinner club's "Fermented" night!
And I took the big kids out for brunch since Sebastian still had preschool! Yum!
And then we kicked off a little stay-cation and went to Great Wolf Lodge!! It totally rocks that this little resort is literally 10 minutes from our house. We haven't been since I was pregnant with Sebastian (and for that trip, we went to the
GWL outside of Cleveland), and it was great to see how much more the kids enjoyed it this time!
We got a room that was perfect for our family...it included bunk beds for the big kids and a single bed for Sebastian!

Sammy was into all of the slides and flumes...and didn't care about getting soaked. (For me, it was a bit chilly...in and out of the water!) Brie warmed up on some of the smaller slides and then was hitting the bigger flumes with me and Tony in no time!
Even Sebastian surprised us and was really brave on a lot of the slides!!
Since the food at GWL is a bit overpriced, and this was our little stay-cation, we went out for Korean. Tony and I had eaten at this restaurant before, but never taken the kids. Everyone loved dinner! (And then we grabbed ice cream, of course!)
We all slept hard that night and the kids were eager to hit the water park again the next day!

We finished off Spring Break with a trip to the zoo...
The weather was beautiful and all of the animals were out.
And we got some sweet smiles from our happy Spring Breakers! (That's a rhino in the background.)
The kids might even be excited to head back to school tomorrow!! (This rhino is fake.) ;-)
Either way, we had a fantastic break and we're officially ready for spring!!
