As a child, I remember thinking, "When I have kids, their birthdays are going to be during the school year, so they can celebrate with their friends at school!" (I imagine that was just one more reason that I liked my May birthday.) Well, considering the fact that my three kiddos have birthdays in December, June and July, I guess you could say, "Best laid plans..." ;-)
But that's where the half-birthday comes in! (I don't think we had them as children, did we?) And since our little guy's preschool is all about letting the kids have a little party with their buddies at school, we figured why not?!
Sebastian's half-birthday was in December (actually, it's Sammy's real birthday!), which proved to be a busy month for his class, so instead, he celebrated last week. Here's our precious and proud (half) birthday boy!
Ready to blow out his candle with Ms. Rachael!"Happy second-and-a-half birthday to Sebastian!"

The other half-birthday in our house this week? Brie's! And she's been milking it for all it's worth! She put the bug in our ear that Chuck E. Cheese's would be fun, so we went as a family for the first time.
And, of course, no birthday (half or otherwise) celebration would be complete without good eats. Back in July, when Brie had her 6th birthday, we made amazing peach cupcakes for her party. Well, that recipe made A LOT of batter, so I baked a sheet cake, too, and then froze it. We defrosted it over the weekend and pretended it was coffee cake. It made for three amazing breakfasts when paired with Rowena's lemon curd (straight from Norfolk!). Yum!
On to some actual birthdays in the weeks and months to come!! We'll keep you posted!!
