Last week, Sammy and Brie wrapped up first grade and kindergarten (How is that possible??), but not without some celebrating and good eats first! Tuesday was "Dress like Mr. Brooks" Day at school...see Brie and Sam in a white shirt and tie? The student body was encouraged to dress like this...such a fun and heartwarming tribute to our school's retiring principal!

The next day, each class had an end-of-year party. Sammy's class enjoyed a pizza picnic that moved inside due to rain, but was tons of fun, regardless.

Thursday was the last day of school! Here are my BIG kiddos...first day of school on the left and the last one on the right!
We celebrated the end of school with frozen yogurt!!
Friday was the first official day of summer vacation, so we took advantage of the fabulous weather with some good, ol' outdoor time...and breaking in our new sneaks!
Brie happily tackled her summer work packet...
And we hit the pool, which was not nearly as busy as we thought it would be.

Sammy and Brie really wanted to walk IN the local Memorial Day parade, and this year we had the opportunity since they both played soccer for the local league. So...we got to watch the parade go by (including collecting A LOT of candy)...
And then walked in the parade while throwing little soccer balls to children in the crowd! It was a win-win!
Happy End of School! Happy Memorial Day! Let's hear it for the start of summer!
P.S. Nothing says, "We're ready for summer!" like the De Falco kids requesting to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" after dinner tonight...ha! Sebastian especially loved it because he's a big fan of "Snow" (Snoopy) lately!
