Well, toys are getting reboots these days, too! Gammy is visiting this week and she gave Brie and Sammy toys that will look familiar to everyone, but have a modern-day upgrade that the kids loved. Brie received a Roominate toy that has all the pieces for constructing a dollhouse, a school (as Brie made here), a playground, you name it...with a STEM twist. Can you see the wires that run along the roof of Brie's little school? They go to a running fan that is blowing in this photo. You can use that motor to make everything from a washing machine to a carousel...how cool!
Sammy's gift was Electronic Battleship and it's way better than the one we had as kids! It has countless clever ways to play (against a friend or the game) and is great for teaching strategy and patience. Truth be told, Tony and I have played with it just as much as Sammy and Brie have!
But don't get me wrong, classic toys can be hard to beat. Earlier today, Brie and Gammy took the time to make friendship bracelets together...
So I'd say that a combination of reboots and old-school toys (and time with Gammy, of course) makes for a great weekend. Fun like that never goes out of style!
