A REAL spring break!

Truth be told, most years spring break totally creeps up on us and we end up laying low and finding fun things to do around town. This year, however, we were prepared! We planned for months, so we could go and enjoy my parents's time share in Florida! We couldn't wait to spend as much time at the beach and pool as we could. We were ready for a real spring break!

So last week, we (woke up INSANELY early and) boarded a plane...

and flew to sunny Ft. Myers Beach!

The kids were so happy that they rough-housed on the bed for ten minutes before they realized that it was time to go out and find lunch!

Lucky for us there was a local farmer's market that we could walk to! While there, we ate delicious barbecue and mac-n-cheese!

And then we hit the beach! Here's Sam (on the right) snorkeling. Watch out for that seagull, Sam!

Vacation brought out the sillies in all three kids...

And you'd think that Sebastian would have figured it out the first time, but no. He sampled the sand multiple times. Yuck!

The cool part about the Ft. Myers condo is that it faces west...so we had amazing sunsets every evening!

It was "heated," which meant the kids were fine...and the parents were a bit COLD!

Brie bonded with the old Florida ladies...

And in no time, she was leading a water aerobics class. No, really!

Every day we went to the pool and the beach...at least twice! Here's the De Falco Trio hard at work!

One morning we drove to Sanibel Island!

It was fun to explore a new beach...

with thousands and thousands of shells...

and more waves to jump in!

"Let's do that again sometime, Dad!"

We chose a quiet afternoon when Sebastian was napping to go see "Zootopia." We had the entire theater to ourselves (woohoo!) and it was a fantastic movie!

Did I mention that we ate many delicious meals in Ft. Myers? Here are my stuffed poblano peppers...one of my favorite things. Yummmmm.

Of course, we often went back to the beach after dinner...wouldn't you?

We also went out to our favorite breakfast place while in Ft. Myers. Cinnamon rolls, bread pudding, egg casserole and great coffee!

Followed by...you guessed it! More pool time!

And then back to the beach again!
