Gammy flew into Cincinnati and spent the week with us...and helped us prepare for the big day.
Brie was eager to show her that she's learned to spell Gammy's name.
Can you find, "Brie," "Gammy" and "Gabriella"??
Here's Sammy modeling the gear he made at school after a field trip to a local woods to learn about Native Americans.
Auntie B and Granddaddy Rob drove from Virginia on Wednesday. It snowed for most of their ride and they were VERY hapy to arrive safely...they described their drive as "harrowing"!! :-( The truth is we were all relieved when they got to Cincinnati safe and sound. (Side note: Check out the Lego command ship that Sammy assembled completely on his own. It's over 600 pieces. He was extremely proud of himself and kept telling us that it's really for people who are 65 years old, but he completed it at age 5. Hehe.)
"So glad you arrived safely, Granddaddy Rob!"
The kids have a new favorite playground, so we went there before the big meal to get out the wiggles.
Tony wanted to contribute to this year's feast, so we figured that homemade rolls would be perfect for him...how different could they be from pizza dough, right? Aunt Jan shared her beloved recipe and they turned out beautifully. Yum!!
I made the sweet potatoes, green beans, chocolate-chip pecan pie and these s'more bars that we love. They have nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but the truth is they are umami!Everything was sooooooo delicious. Especially our free-range, antibiotic-free turkey! #firstworldproblems
Hug the chef!

And so do babies!
We took Gammy out for a special birthday dinner, too. Here are the girls!
The truth is that the perfect ending to a wonderful day is a bedtime story.
Light-up Legos (in the bathroom with the lights off)!
We also went bowling!
With flare!
Time to relax after a fantastic week of celebrating. The truth is we have lots to be thankful for...and turkey makes you sleepy!
P.S. I thought I'd share an outtake from our family photo shoot. The kids' faces crack me up: Brie's cheese, Sammy's humor and Sebastian's aloofness.
