Gabriella Ballerina's Big Recital

If you follow our blog or keep up with our Cincinnati comings and goings, you know that Brie has been doing ballet for 11 months now.  Here are some pics of her at her first class back in June 2013. Doesn't Brie look so little?!

 

It was easy to tell from those first classes that this was something she really enjoyed and looked forward to. In fact, to say that being a "ballerina" has become part of Brie's identity this year would be a huge understatement. She has looked forward to every Tuesday with great excitement and anticipation...and she's always eager to tell anyone who asks about her ballet class, her teacher, her ballet bed sheets, etc. And, as parents, it's been neat to watch this become one of her first passions! 

Well, today Brie had her big recital...the culmination of all of her classes for the last year.  Tony and I were a bit uncertain as to whether she'd be enthusiastic (recitals are different than weekly class, after all), but she woke up very excited about putting on her costume and going to dance on a stage.  :-)

We're not quite sure what we were worried about...Brie knew all her moves!

And she smiled through the whole performance...

and laughed a bit, too!

After the show, Brie thanked her wonderful teacher Ms. Julie for an amazing year.

Brie has been in class with the same three girls since September. They all got a rose after the show. How cute are they??

Here are the four of us. Can you tell that Brie had a great time, but that all Prima Ballerinas need a good nap??

Brie will age up to Ballet, Tap and Jazz this fall, which she's really looking forward to. We're thrilled that this year was such a positive experience for her, and that there's more fun to come!
