Happy Eastover!

Happy Eastover, y'all! We hope everyone is having a very nice Easter and Passover this beautiful weekend!

Actually, our celebrating began last weekend with a very fun (and low-key) Easter egg hunt (courtesy of the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties)! It was indoors because of the weather, but it worked out beautifully and all of the kids had a great time.

Another egg-celent part of our week (no pun intended. at all.) was this adorable chicken toy that our sweet neighbor Eleanore gave to Sammy and Brie for Easter. As you can see, it lays eggs--and each time it does, Brie giggles. So fun!

On Friday night, we got together with good friends to celebrate Passover with a delicious (and speedy!) Seder! Given that there were six kids under age four present, time was of the essence...so the Seder part was shorter and the eating-delicious-food-and-chatting-with-great-people part was long. We had a wonderful time.

Jacob, Sammy and Samara had tons of fun at the kids' table. They didn't eat too much, but they had a blast playing with Jacob's toys!

The little ones looked everywhere for the afikoman, but Samara spotted it first. Not too shabby for an almost-two-year-old!

Oh! And my contribution to the Seder was Granny's matzo ball soup! This was the second time I've made it and it brought back many good memories of my grandmother's amazing soup. I'm vowing not to wait until next Passover to make it again!

Other good eats this week? Nonna's Easter cookies = Sammy is a HAPPY camper!

Back to today...  Since the weather was so nice, we organized a little outdoor egg hunt for Sammy and Brie this morning. They both know exactly what to do now and it was really fun for us to watch them have such a great time. Check it out!

P.S. While I'm on a roll...here are some more pics of recent fun. Sammy and Brie still can't get enough of swinging at the playground;

and the kids got a HUGE kick out of watching their cousin Lucas take his first steps (in a video that Aunt Katya sent). We watched the video six times!!

Brie insists on feeding herself lately and is getting pretty good with utensils. Well, usually.

At a visit to Sammy's buddy Abby's house last week, the two of them had a blast in Abby's hammock!
