What were we celebrating?? Baby Brie's Brit Bat...a ceremony for Brie to receive a Hebrew name! The name we gave her is "Chava," which is Hebrew for Eve (her middle name). It seemed perfect since she has a beautiful Italian first name (from her great-grandmother) and now a Hebrew name to remind her of her Jewish heritage.
And we got her all dressed up...

What were we celebrating?? Baby Brie's Brit Bat...a ceremony for Brie to receive a Hebrew name! The name we gave her is "Chava," which is Hebrew for Eve (her middle name). It seemed perfect since she has a beautiful Italian first name (from her great-grandmother) and now a Hebrew name to remind her of her Jewish heritage. For the ceremony, Brie was wrapped in a tablecloth (in lieu of a prayer shawl) that Grandma Lonia embroidered...beautiful!
Rabbi Berkowitz led a very pretty ceremony...about how special it is to have a daughter, and how we hope Brie will be kind, caring and giving as she grows up.
We read wishes to Brie in Japanese!
Brie even got a dab of wine to try! (She said, "I prefer milk!")
All four grandparents read blessings for Brie.

Rabbi Berkowitz led a very pretty ceremony...about how special it is to have a daughter, and how we hope Brie will be kind, caring and giving as she grows up.

Surprisingly, Brie fell asleep during the ceremony! Here she is being blessed by Rabbi Berkowitz.
Then we ate!!
And danced! Well, Sammy did...
It's my party and I'll nap if I want to...

Sammy stole Margaret's phone. When we asked who's calling, he gave his usual response: "NONNO!"
It was a lovely afternoon...all about Brie. Can you tell she didn't want it to end?
