Autumn Kick-off: Wicked Fun in Western Mass

When I told my friend Jen that we were going to be flying with Sammy for the first time when he was 7 months old, she said, "You've already missed out on months of easy flying time!" So we took Jen's advice to heart this time and headed north last weekend with Sammy and 12-week-old Brie!
"Where did we go?" you ask. We flew to Western Massachusetts to visit Aunt Diane and Aunt Katya! Here's Sammy on the plane, but don't worry...he sat on Tony's lap for safety. :-)

And Brie laid on my lap...and enjoyed snuggling in the Bjorn.

Once we arrived, Sammy relaxed in his borrowed carseat and Brie kept watch and took it all in. Surprise!
Finally nodding off...
Are we there yet?

Diane and Katya were the perfect hosts! They planned a WONDERFUL weekend of fun, games and delicious home-cooked meals for us...and the icing on the cake?? TWO furry friends for Sammy to play with: "Gigi-dog" and "Lyly-dog" (Ginger and Linus).
A doggy on the sofa?? How funny!
And fun!

We went to a great playground!

Whee!!!!!!
Ginger, spokesdog for dog-friendly playgrounds everywhere!

Diane watching Ginger...Ginger watching Sammy...Sammy watching Dora...

We went to a petting zoo and pumpkin farm!

Look at all of the pumpkins!!

However will I choose??

This one is just my size...

Loungin' back at their cozy house...

and playing Wii Bowling!

Isn't New England beautiful??

Let's go apple picking! And apple eating!

Sammy was a bit attached to the apple he picked...
Family silliness in front of the changing fall foliage...
and sweetness...
We finished off our wonderful weekend with burgers at Red Robin!
Our trip was the perfect way to kick off autumn! We hope to go "up north" again very soon!

P.S. OK. So our weekend was almost perfect. Sammy and Brie were really good on the airplane, but our second return flight (from Baltimore to RDU) was delayed FOUR hours, which meant killing time (lots of time) in BWI. Tony chased after Sammy and fed Sammy and chased after Sammy and fed Sammy...
and when all else fails, one must turn to Dora!!
Of course, we also had to entertain Brie. That was tough! She doesn't really like to be held, so we there was a lot of juggling, bouncing, swaying, rocking and Baby Bjorn carrying...
Look! It worked!
