A Dog's Life

Sometimes we wonder what Blossom looked like when she was born and brand-new. I caught this blurry shot a few weeks back as she was emerging from under Samuel's bed with her signature army crawl. I thought, "That looks like a Baby Blossom!"

Then this darling, pull-at-your-heartstrings photo came up on my feed--about puppies up for adoption in Dayton. One of them really looks like it could be Blossom! That sweet little face second from the left, complete with her "Super Blossom Button" on top, totally stole my heart again. Brie remarked that all of the puppies look so different--a boxer, a Blossom, a red-and-white cutie, an Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler. Kind of sounds like Blossom's pedigree anyway!  

Either way, we're all glad that got her at four months old and got to enjoy her puppiness. Now she's getting big--over 50 pounds at ten months! And her personality is fun, too! She brings us laughs and joy every day. Here are a few reasons why:

• She loves blankets, towels, pillows and laundry of all sorts. Speaking of which, "Please paint my portrait while I pose for you."

Along the same lines, she fluffs all of our area rugs to make a bed to lie on. (sigh)

• She's a "Velcro dog." Her DNA test said 40% Australian Shepherd and, apparently, they always want to be right by your side. That's Blossom. Like this pic..."Don't mind me...I'll just chew on my toy while you stretch."

• She runs a tight ship. Wake up, go out, eat breakfast, get a chewy, go for a walk, take a nap, walk after a human's lunch, nap again, eat dinner at 3:30 p.m. sharp, nap some more, walk after the human's dinner. And lots of playing in between! Blossom likes her schedule, even if it doesn't quite gel with yours...and her barks will keep you in line!

• She's collapsible. Our old dog Jack used to fold into the jackknife position, too. Hilarious!

• She's quite naughty! Grabs toys, toilet paper and socks ANY opportunity she gets. Who, me??

Puppy silliness...

• She's a great athlete! Blossom can jog with Tony for miles and miles without even breathing hard! And then she'll happily relax for Savasana! 😉

• She's very angelic when sleeping, which is often on my cold feet while I work (yay)! Snuggle time! 

We feel so lucky to have Blossom. She makes our days more fun and funny! But one thing's for sure, it's good to be a dog!!
