Now a teen!

Samuel turned 13 on the 18th. How is this possible? Tony and I are both proud and in awe...and a bit in denial. It went so fast. But he's such a great kid...upstanding, hardworking, kindhearted, just, a loyal friend, respectful of his superiors/adults, enthusiastic about discussing important matters with anyone who will listen, excited to make the world a better place, I could go on and on...

Since Samuel had the party of all parties for his 13th...and the pandemic is dragging on...and Omicron is spreading like wildfire, we told Samuel that he could invite one good friend to celebrate with. He picked his long-time best friend Braeden to come over for playtime--they built a series of elaborate military forts, pizza and cake, and a movie--Despicable Me 3. They had such a good time. It was really sweet to watch them together. Such a fun age when you share a sense of humor so well with someone.

Tony made some A+ pizza which Braeden got a huge kick out of.

And Samuel requested the same cake (brownie cake with cream cheese frosting) three years in a row because a) he knows what he likes and b) I'm good at baking. 😉

He got several great gifts. You know you're 13 when you ask for new khakis and are excited to get them. Ha!

Happy 13th, Samuel!!
