High Five and the 4th!

Sebastian just turned five, but he's been celebrating for weeks. If we rode the carousel at the zoo, then it must be for his birthday...
Donuts for Father's Day? Must be for his birthday...
First swim lessons? Must be for his birthday!
But his actual birthday did finally roll around and he's been very spoiled with tons of fun. We're all about baking and decorating cakes in our house, so Sebastian did just that with cake #1 (chocolate cake with chocolate icing...and gummy worms on top).

Brie always creates the most thoughtful and beautiful gifts for loved ones.
Sebastian loves to color, so she made him his very own coloring book.
The inside is full of black-and-white drawings that he can color in.
This was a big hit!
But back to theme du jour. New backpacks for this fall? Must be for his birthday...
Visiting Brie and Samuel at camp?
Watching Brie perform with the Lip Sync club?
And then seeing both big siblings win awards after the show? Must be for his birthday!
And THEN there was the party with his buddies!
Cake #2 was a white cake with buttercream frosting and dinosaurs...yum!
Cake #3 was a yellow cake with cream cheese icing and star sprinkles. It was definitely our favorite!
Sebastian had his party at Swaim Park again this year. He specifically asked for water balloons...always fun and  perfect for summer!

Sebastian was very pleased with his party and gifts, especially his light saber from Grant! Happy Birthday, Cutie!
And then it was July 4th! Brie wanted to ride her bike in the parade this year!
The boys and I watched the parade and looked for Brie.

Brie with her biking buddies Ellen and Sophie...
Ready to ride!
There they are!
The rest of our celebration included more playtime!
And then a pool party!
We love our town, our neighbors and Independence Day!

P.S. Our newly minted five-year-old loves this book lately.
We definitely recommend it. The photography is hilarious!
P.P.S. Sebastian has made enormous headway in swimming in just a few weeks. Here he is practicing his stroke work with Brie this morning!
