The Proof

I remember when Sammy was just a few weeks old, my mother-in-law asked if I could remember life without him. It's an interesting question because your first child is so life-altering that almost everything reminds you of your "old life," even if you wouldn't trade your "new" one for anything. I could remember life without Sammy, but it felt like a past life, an eternity ago...

When Brie arrived, it was less of a change. Our lifestyle was already geared toward babies and we definitely had embraced parenthood.

And what about Sebastian?  Well, even though it had been four years since we had an infant in the house, he has fit right in. This is a credit to his big sibs who have welcomed him with open arms (and sloppy kisses), and perhaps evidence that we knew we had room for him in our hearts (and house!) before he arrived. Now that he's here, our family feels complete. Here's some proof!

Five "seats" at our island:
This little "baby seat" that Gammy and Granddaddy Rob got for us works so well in our kitchen! And having Sebastian around means we're back to blending squash and peas and mashing banana and avocado...something we loved doing for Sammy and Brie when they were babies.
The smiling faces on our wall used to look like this:
And now they look like this! (Brie did point out that that is not a baby photo of Sammy...just might have to swap it!)
My shadow at the zoo (Sebastian's in there, too, of course!):
Our taxes (we got to click "New child/dependent" for the last time!):
There's a napper in the house again:
And who can forget that we're now washing clothes and dishes (and even toys) for THREE little people. But we're not complaining. We're thrilled. The proof that Sebastian is here is everywhere and we definitely can't imagine life without him.
