Tony and I just returned from an incredibly fun weekend in Sin City. It fell on the heels of the horrific events from the week before, but there was no question that we wanted to go and support our good friends who were getting married!! Look, an Elvis sighting!!
The guys hanging out...
The girls chillaxin'...
When in Vegas, you have to go to a show, right? I did a little homework and picked this one for us. It was really funny and very over the top, of course! Tony and I have loved Jai since his days on "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and nothing is more "Vegas" than Kendra. They were great together!
After the show, we all went out for Japanese food and celebrating our dear friend (the bride) Tamiko!! Do you recognize everyone? This is the same group of dear friends we reunited with in Chicago in May...we all taught English in the same town in Japan ages ago! How lucky are we that we got to spend time together twice in one year?!
The next day we headed over to Bali Hai Golf Club for the big event...it was like being in Hawaii!
Ready to party with old friends!
Tamiko and Mark's ceremony was beautiful!Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Mark Palma!
The eight adorable flower girls (one was already asleep by this point) stole the show!
The highlight of the night was the taiko drum performance!! Tamiko is the president of New York's taiko drum association, and her taiko friends performed for us...
And so did the bride! Tamiko was amazing! (In case you're wondering, the drums were on loan from the Las Vegas taiko association. Pretty awesome.)
The Shimizu JETS (minus Rebecca) plus significant others!
The next day, we kicked back and enjoyed more time with friends. And ate more good food. What a perfect getaway.
Tamiko's family was kind enough to invite us to join them for a spectacular sushi dinner on our last evening in Vegas. We ate and ate and ate. What better way to celebrate old friends who met in Japan than with delicious Japanese food!
Omedetou to Tamiko and Mark!!
P.S. Rebecca, you were missed!!
