We Built This City...

You know those handful of songs that you've loved from the second you heard them as a child?? Well, for me, that would include several Starship songs...so when I heard that they were going to be performing (for free!) just 10 minutes from our house, you better believe that I got excited. Their show was this past weekend...and I looked forward to it all summer!

Tony thought I was a little nutty for dressing up, but I love 80's everything, especially the clothing, so this just made my night even more fun! And lucky me...my whole outfit was in my closet except the glittery hot pink legwarmers, which I borrowed from Brie. Beth reassured me that I wouldn't be the only fan who dresses up, but I did not see a single other person in righteous 80's duds. How bogus!
Here's a clip from "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" (their #1 selling single). They sounded fabulous! Can you tell we were very close to the stage??
And here's the tail end of "We Built This City," which was the real reason that going to this concert was a must for me. I danced my heart out to it...LOVE this song!!
Yay, for 80's children! Tony and I have always said that we were ahead of our time when we bonded over 80's music in the mid-90's...hehe.
We went to the concert with a bunch of buddies from our neighborhood. Totally bodacious!
P.S. Tony does not remember putting "We Built This City" on a mixed tape for me during our freshman year of college, but I do!! ;-)

P.P.S. Starship also performed their hit "Sara," as well as "Set the Night to Music." I completely forgot that they sang the original (and my favorite) version of that song. Both were really good live!!
