She's six!

On Friday, Brie received the Arapaho Award at camp. The certificate reads, "The Arapaho award goes to the girl who is kind and respectful to all campers and counselors. This girl always tries her hardest, and is always a team player. This camper always displays a positive attitude and is a great role model for others." Brie was both touched and elated that she won the award, and we were all very excited for her. Tony and I agreed that the description definitely sounds like our Brie, but we were mostly in awe that the description fit her so well since her personality has evolved and changed significantly over the years...and in great ways! Brie is kind and respectful by nature. She tries her best because she gets a kick out of it. She cheers on her friends because she's genuinely proud of their achievements. And she is very positive because she can't help but be that way. We loved seeing those unique qualities of hers--that we respect and admire--recognized in such a special way last week.
This award also reminded us of the comment that one of the adult counselors made when I picked Brie up from the camp she attended in June: "She is a hoot...so comfortable in her own skin and lively. She's a pleasure to have." Music to a momma's ears!!

Brie is six today and we're so proud of who she is and who she is becoming. Nothing's more fun to watch! Let's celebrate!!
