Where did June go?

Is it really July 3 already?  Well, that must be because June was a blast...and it just flew by!  Here are some highlights!

Brie started (and fell in love with) Baby Ballet class. She would go every day, if she could!

We enjoyed our zoo membership, including rides on the train!
As always, the kids took time to sit on the fairly realistic gator sculpture.
All this activity made for some quality naps...
...and sibling snuggles while watching cartoons on the couch.
We reunited with old friends...
Amanda and me -- we hadn't seen each other since middle school!
...and bid a fond farewell to some newer friends, too!
Charlotte (next to Sammy) is moving to Florida. The kids and buddy Brenna gave her a sweet send-off.
We tried out new parks...here's Brie at Alms Park in Columbia-Tusculum...
...and broke in some very special superhero capes courtesy of Gammy!
There go Iceman and Firestar!

Even superheros take a break from crime-fighting to enjoy story time!
We also went to our first Reds baseball game as a family!!
The ballpark is so gorgeous--can you see the Ohio River in the background??

And what better way to celebrate your first Reds game than with your FIRST cotton candy?!

Even at the ballpark, Gammy got in some good snuggles!
Sammy being silly!
Don't you love Sammy's face in this next picture?? It's because this is the conversation that transpired between him and Cincinnati Police Officer Kilgore:
Officer Kilgore:  "Hi!  What's your name?"
Sammy:  "It's Sammy."
O.K.:  "Sammy, I've been looking all over for you!"  (that's when I took this pic)  "Are you remembering to listen to everything your mom says...and to bathe at least once a week...and to play nicely with your sister?"
Sammy:  (no speaking...just nodding at this point)
O.K.:  "OK, then here are some Cincinnati Police Department stickers and tattoos for you and your sister.  Be good, kiddo."
What a nice guy!!!

Here are a few more pics of the kids with Gammy...so much fun for Sammy and Brie!

Another BIG highlight of June?  Tony received a call from the NIH asking for a high-res copy of his image that was on the cover of the journal in April. They will be hanging a copy of the picture in the Eunice  Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child and Human Development in Bethesda! Pretty darn cool!

We also visited a new museum when Auntie B came to visit: the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.  It is awesome!!

Without a doubt, the highlight of Auntie B's visit was the SUPERBLY FUN concert we went to!  But the kids would argue that all of the time they spent being silly with Auntie B was great, too...

not to mention that we introduced her to Cincinnati chili (of course), as well!!
So that was our busy and wonderful June. How was yours??
P.S.We'll leave you with two little videos: one from Brie's ballet class and one of Iceman and Firestar on their scooters!

Hi, this is Aria, Kaori Komaki's daughter. I'm not sure you remember me...but it's been so long time! Thank you for your sending us post cards on Christmas holiday and so on. And I'm also sorry for my mom's bad correspondance. She sometimes talks about you and care about you but she is just bad correspondent. I noticed this blog in the post card. How cute Sammy and Brie are and how fast they grow up! I'll check your blog again. I appreciate it if you reply to me when you have free time.
