Mr. Sam Goes to Washington!

Hey everybody! Do you remember Mom and Dad's good friends Chiha and Per Magne?! The four of them explored the depths of Japanese cuisine and climbed Mt. Fuji together before I was born (see below). Well, they came all the way from Norway to visit us in North Carolina!

We had a wonderful time showing them around Durham and Richmond...

Here's me outside the Duke Chapel! We had great weather!

They LOVED American food like hamburgers and Carolina barbecue...AND we made chocolate chip cookies and pizza from scratch!

Also, I visited our nation's capital for the first time! I rode the Metro for the first time...

Stood beneath the Washington Monument for the first time...

"Saw" Mr. Lincoln for the first time...

Visited the White House for the first time (the Obamas were out of town, but I was looking for puppy dog Bo)...

And discovered my new favorite museum: the Newseum! I even got on the big screen!

But I slept through the Obama Inauguration (Photobama) exhibit...just like I did when the real thing was on TV!

Of course, my favorite part of the whole week was spending time with Chiha and Per. They are wonderful with babies and gave me lots of love and attention. I miss them and can't wait to visit them in Norway one day!

P.S. Maybe next time I'll return to D.C. as the junior senator from North Carolina who tries to pass legislation to start up a camp for boys...
