Since we just saw my parents in late October and Tony's parents last week...and since we'll be driving to Virginia in just a month, we thought this was the perfect year to host our first ever Friendsgiving!!
Tony and I were a little worried...we've cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal WITH family before. Could we do it without family??
Turns out we needn't have been worried. We did great!
Everything turned out beautifully, including my first go at cornbread stuffing with a recipe courtesy of Tony's cousin Laura. Yum, yum, yum!!
We invited our Turkish friends (Can you tell our kids have been buddies for years?) and our neighbor Kevin (a.k.a. Santa Claus). We're so thankful for good friends!!
Oddly enough, we were worried about the amount of food, but we easily could have served twice as many guests. We just would have needed a few more turkey napkin rings...didn't Brie and Nonna do a super job?
After lunch, Uzay and Sebastian gave a concert!
After Friendsgiving? Well, Brie and I actually did a little Black Friday shopping this year! She found these cute skull leggings!
We also enjoyed the leftovers for days...SO good.
And we put up our tree and lights! This year I have Grandma Janis's old fiber-optic tree. It's lovely to watch in the dark.
What a wonderful Thanksgiving. Can't wait to host again soon!
P.S. Our pumpkin pie is all gone...
But Sebastian made this one in art today! So cute!
